Market Sales Representatives

Job Description

The market representative position is for outgoing, friendly people who enjoy working with the general public.  The actual sales take place mostly at farmers markets and special events.  "Farmers’ Markets" are outdoor market places that customers attend to buy fresh produce and bakery goods directly from the farm or bakery.  Market locations vary each day of the week.  Gold Rush Kettle Korn currently operates at markets Tuesday thru Sunday

A typical day as a market sales representative is seven to ten hours long from arriving at the shop in Benicia, CA  to returning to the shop.  The day, in general, can be broken up as follows:  one hour driving to the market, one hour to setup, three – six hours of actual sales time, one hour to clean up and take down, and one hour to drive back to the shop.  Actual drive time varies by location of the farmers' market or event.

The key requirements for the position are as follows:  (these are not the only requirements)

1.  You must enjoy working with people

2.  You must have a valid and current drivers license, and be comfortable driving larger vehicles

3.  You must be 18 year or older

4.  Have a good personality

5.  Be willing to work hard and not afraid to sweat

6.  Must not be heat or smoke sensitive, as the kettle does get hot when busy

7.  Lift 50+ lbs

The nature of the job does not allow for half days due to travel and market hours.  Weekends are required as they are our busiest days.

General pay information is a base salary paid daily plus a percentage of that market’s sales.  This currently averages between $10-$20+ per hour based on an average day of eight or ten hours.  NEW ---  Higher daily base salaries are available to employees with a proven track record of success after successful evaluations and reviews!
